Group description

The research group is active in the fields of artificial intelligence, computer vision, biosignal processing, and the development of intelligent sensor systems. Its research focuses on advanced machine learning and deep learning methods for the analysis of image, video, and biosignal data, with applications in healthcare, robotics, agriculture, industry, maritime transport, and smart environments.

The group develops intelligent sensing and cyber-physical systems that integrate computer vision, Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, embedded systems, and advanced data analytics. Particular emphasis is placed on developing algorithms for edge devices, autonomous robotic platforms, and real-time decision-making systems.

Research activities include biosignal analysis, health assessment and rehabilitation monitoring, intelligent visual control systems, precision agriculture, 3D modelling and scene reconstruction, development of advanced Bayesian frameworks for risk analysis and surveillance system optimization, computer vision and sensor fusion for maritime applications, integration of augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR) into industrial processes, application of intelligent machine learning algorithms for behavioural prediction and interaction modelling in socio-technical systems, and the application of large language models (LLMs), vision-language models (VLMs), and generative artificial intelligence in intelligent information systems.

The group actively participates in national and international research projects and collaborates with academic institutions and industrial partners in developing innovative AI-based technologies.
