Group description

The research group is active in the fields of applied electromagnetics and radio-frequency (RF) electronics. The group conducts research and teaches the courses (within FESB study programmes) in wireless communications, antennas, antenna systems and technologies, RF and microwave engineering, electronics and electronic circuits, electromagnetic measurements, and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC). The Department also possesses specialized expertise in maritime and military communication systems. The group’s research and teaching activities are also strongly focused on the application of electromagnetics, electronics, and engineering in biomedicine. The Department covers research and education in bioelectromagnetics, medical devices, biomedical applications, and the biological effects of electromagnetic fields. The group has extensive experience in carrying out professional projects, as well as preparing technical studies, expert reports, and consultancy services for industry and other external stakeholders.

Collaboration opportunities

The research group welcomes collaboration in the fields of electromagnetic simulations, measurements, and the development of RF, microwave, and antenna systems, as well as in addressing electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) challenges and assessing human exposure to electromagnetic fields. We are particularly interested in collaborating with academic institutions, industrial partners, and public-sector organizations on projects involving the design and testing of antennas, electronic and measurement systems, dielectric characterization of materials and biological tissues, and the development and validation of medical devices.

The group also provides support in the preparation of technical studies, expert reports, and professional analyses related to non-ionizing radiation, bioelectromagnetics, communication systems, and electromagnetic compatibility. Supported by well-equipped laboratory infrastructure and extensive experience in scientific research and industry-oriented projects, the group is well positioned to engage in collaborative research, development, consultancy, and educational activities.
